Well, it's been quite some time since I've visited. Business travel, raising a teenage son, and the never ending complexity of life has kept me quite occupied. It feels like a year since I?ve posted to this forum, and it very well could be, or maybe even longer.
I'm sorry to say that my Great Plains project stalled some time ago, and at this point, I don?t believe I can take it any further. I feel like I just won a Grammy, because there are so many people to thank. I went into my living room, saw my magnificent speakers standing there silent, and can?t even remember the last time I listened to them. The sight of them encouraged me to reach out to the forum.
Underneath each speaker sits custom crossovers, with an adjustable cap selector made from a clear, plastic case that you?ll find a new stack of 100 CD-R?s packaged in. The crossovers, and this unique selectable cap device, were designed by Donald Patten. He has been so gracious with his time and intellect for crossover design that I couldn?t even begin to thank him. His design is just a pinch away from perfection. Donald lives in Chicago, and even took the time to visit my home in Florida to take measurements of the driver to get things just right. He is truly on the verge of a breakthrough crossover for the Great Plains 604 driver.
There are many on this board that contributed as well, and provided me with the energy to press forward with the project, and I thank each and every one of you. To Stephaen Harrel, Pete Riggle, and Jay Fisher, who were part of the team that are responsible for my journey to begin with, I thank you. Many thanks to Bill Hanuschak for creating such a wonderful driver, keeping the legacy alive, and supporting his products with passion. And finally, my apologies to those that have left me messages on the board over the last year, all of which I have seen for the first time today.
At this time, I?m preparing to put the system and associated crossovers up for sale, so someone can pick up where I left off, and take this project to completion. The cabinets were constructed by a master craftsman out of select birch, and were made to a standard that was meant to support my dream of turning this into a commercial venture, albeit on a very small, custom scale. The detailed drawings for these cabinets may still be available, and were created with the intention of having panels made using CNC machines. I have numerous pictures detailing their construction. I had actually dreamed of showing the system at CES some day. These cabinets are one of a kind, and absolutely gorgeous.
It?s going to be very hard for me to let them go, but it?s time that I give someone else the opportunity to take the system to completion. I?m sure this system caters to a unique market, and I?d be embarrassed to tell you how much I?ve invested. Any advice on finding a home for this magnificent system would be greatly appreciated.
Again, my heartfelt thanks to everyone!
